Abstract
A gate valve uses a wedge-shaped gate as the closing member, which moves up and down via a stem to open or close the valve. The gate’s direction of motion is perpendicular to the fluid flow. Gate valves are designed strictly for full-open or fully-closed positions and cannot be used for throttling or regulating flow. They are suitable for a wide range of media, including water, steam, oil products, nitric acid, acetic acid, oxidizing agents, urea, and more.
This imported gate valve market is categorized by material into imported cast steel gate valves, imported cast iron gate valves, and imported stainless steel gate valves.
According to flange standards, it can be divided into imported American-standard gate valves and imported Japanese-standard gate valves;
Based on the connection method, they can be categorized into imported forged steel gate valves with internal threads and imported high-temperature, high-pressure power plant gate valves (welded gate valves).
It can also be classified according to the valve plate structure, including imported knife gate valves designed for slurries, coal washing, and mining pulp applications, as well as imported pneumatic slurry valves. Additionally, there are imported flat-plate gate valves used in oil drilling and other similar industries.
The specialized gate valve market also features imported resilient-seated gate valves for water applications, as well as cryogenic gate valves designed for low-temperature liquid natural gas and liquid oxygen. Additionally, there are imported jacketed insulation gate valves with thermal insulation capabilities, ideal for materials like asphalt and heat-transfer oils that require both heat and cold preservation.
Advantages of China's Gate Valves
1. Low flow resistance. The internal medium passage in the valve body of China's imported gate valves is straight, allowing the medium to flow in a direct line with minimal resistance.
2. Gate valves are easier to operate when opening and closing, as the direction of the gate’s movement remains perpendicular to the flow of the media—whether the valve is open or closed.
3. Gate valves are tall and have a long operating time for opening and closing. The gate’s travel distance is relatively large, with lifting achieved via a screw mechanism.
4. The gate valve has a long closing time, making it less likely to cause water hammer.
5. The gate valve features symmetrical flow passages on both sides, allowing the medium to flow freely in either direction. It is easy to install and not restricted by directional requirements.
China's gate valves will be increasingly used in industries such as water conservancy, machinery, papermaking, metallurgy, petrochemicals, chemicals, and urban construction.
